Oupes alternatives by size
Compare rival power stations in equivalent capacity classes. This page owns “alternatives to Oupes” intent; it does not duplicate the Oupes lineup or exact model-vs-model decisions.

What Oupes optimizes for
OUPES positions itself on affordability backed by a long warranty, aimed explicitly at preparedness buyers rather than at campers or professionals.
What the manufacturer claims
Quoted from the manufacturer’s own material. We have not tested these claims.
OUPES says it exists to "provide affordable and reliable solar power to households, adventurers, who value preparedness", and attributes its pricing to controlling its own production facilities.
oupes.com — About us →OUPES states its power stations "offer 5-year warranties and feature a 6-layer circuit protection system", and that it runs a US-based support team rather than outsourcing it.

What the Oupes units we track show
Computed from the sourced specifications of the models in our catalogue — a deliberately selected slice of what this brand sells, never the full lineup.
The 5-year warranty claim holds across all three OUPES units we track. The sourced specs point at surge headroom as the real characteristic: both 1,024 Wh Mega 1 variants pair a 2,000 W inverter with a 4,500 W surge rating — a 2.25× ratio, and higher in absolute terms than the larger 2,048 Wh Mega 2 Pro, which surges to 3,800 W from a 2,500 W inverter. For motor-start loads such as a pump or compressor, the smaller units in our sample are the more capable ones, which is the opposite of the usual pattern. The Mega 1 Lite is also the lightest kilowatt-hour-class unit in this group at 26.5 lb.
Limits of this evidence: Three units, no pricing data under the current compliance gate, and no way for us to test a "6-layer circuit protection system" — that is OUPES’ description of its own design, quoted as such. The Trustpilot rating the brand cites is its own citation, not a figure we verify or publish.
Lineup at a glance
Alternatives are grouped by the same published capacity cohorts used by the scoring system. The matrix never calls a rival cheaper, lighter, or more powerful unless both relevant readings are present.

Frequently asked
- Is OUPES a good brand for home backup?
- The three units we track carry the surge headroom that motor loads need — 4,500 W from the 1,024 Wh Mega 1 is unusually high for that capacity — and a 5-year warranty. The constraint is energy, not output: 1,024 Wh does not carry a refrigerator through a long outage regardless of how much surge it has, so size on watt-hours and treat the surge rating as what decides whether the appliance starts at all.
- What does "EV-grade LiFePO4" mean on the Mega 1 Lite?
- It is OUPES’ marketing description of the cells, and we record it as the manufacturer states it. There is no industry definition of "EV-grade" and no certification behind the phrase, so it should not be read as a verified distinction from the LiFePO4 in the other units we track. The rated cycle life, which is a comparable number, is 3,500.
- Where can I compare two exact models?
- A head-to-head page owns that decision and keeps the query separate from this one. Compare exact models →
- How is the BatteryRank score calculated?
- The composite is price-independent and computed from published inputs with explicit missing-data rules. See the formula →
