The buying decision

Should you buy it?

For certified 15W wireless with a wired fallback

Anker certifies Qi2 magnetic wireless at up to 15W for the listed iPhone series, while the USB-C path reaches 27W for cable top-ups. The display reports charge state and the stand holds the phone at a viewing angle.

Know this before you buy

The A1654 lists 250g at 19.8mm thick. Anker’s A1664 Slim also rates wireless at 15W, with a thinner body. You get a display and stand on the A1654. If those features will stay unused, compare the Slim before carrying the extra bulk.

What this score tells you

Each reading gets a percentile within its group. Higher output, capacity and input score better. Lower weight scores better. Ties share a midpoint. We combine those percentiles using the weights above and round the final result.

A score of 100 means the strongest combination in this peer set, not a perfect power bank. Scores can change when we update a rating or publish another model. Compare scores within the same group.

The score does not include wireless charging, weather protection, price or safety. Capacity is the manufacturer’s mAh rating, not usable USB energy or a phone recharge count. Check the verdict and charging limits before you buy.

What changes the choice

Other drawbacks to consider

27W wired output is phone-class

The cable path covers phones and small tablets. Laptops needing 45W or more stay outside this bank, wireless or not.

Before connecting devices

Ports and charging behavior

A port’s published maximum and the combined multi-port limit are separate ratings. A device can draw less than the bank’s maximum based on its own requirements and the negotiated charging profile.

Refill at up to 20W over USB-C

Recharging tops out at 20W with a stated 165-minute full time. Pass-through charging is supported, so a phone can charge from the bank while the bank refills.

Cases and heat change wireless results

Check your case and align the phone on the pad. Anker says an iPhone can pause at 80 percent when it gets too warm. Let it cool before trying again. A cable gives you a higher output ceiling, but it does not override the phone’s charging limits.

Exact-model questions

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy the A1654 or the slimmer A1664?

Both rate Qi2 wireless at 15W. The A1654 adds a smart display and foldable stand at 250g. The A1664 trims thickness and weight for pocket carry. Screen and stand buyers take the A1654.

Will it attach to any phone?

No. Check Anker’s supported phones and case guidance. Magnetic attachment and wireless charging support are separate requirements. A magnetic case can help alignment, but it does not add Qi2 charging hardware to a phone.
