At a glance

EcoFlow DELTA 3 is a midsize (1 kwh class) model best suited to camper. It supplies 1,800 W of continuous AC output. BatteryRank scores it 68 out of 100 within its size class.

Our verdict on the EcoFlow DELTA 3

Compare this against a DELTA 2 on the specification everyone checks and you will see no upgrade at all: both hold 1,024 Wh, both run 1,800 W continuous. The generational change is entirely in the numbers people skip. Rated cycles go from 3,000 to 4,000, switchover from 30 ms to 10 ms, recharge from 72 minutes to 56, surge from 2,700 W to 3,600 W, and the expansion ceiling from 2,048 Wh to 5,000 Wh. Capacity was never the thing that improved.

Choose this if
  • You want a 1 kWh unit now that can become a 5 kWh system laterThe 5,000 Wh expansion ceiling is nearly two and a half times what the previous generation allowed, so the entry decision does not cap the eventual one.
  • Sensitive electronics have to stay up through a cutoverA 10 ms switchover is inside what most desktop and networking power supplies ride out without resetting, which a 30 ms gap is not reliably.
Skip this if
  • A 240 V circuit is part of what you need to back upThis is 120 V only. A well pump, an electric range or a dryer is not a question of having enough watts here — the output simply cannot address them. It provides 240 V split-phase output at 4,000 W.
  • Weight is the deciding factor because you will carry it regularlyAt 12.5 kg it is at the heavy end of the 1 kWh class, and the expansion capability that justifies the mass is worth nothing if you never use it. It holds a comparable 1,070 Wh at 10.8 kg.

The honest limit: The 56-minute recharge is the headline and it is accurate, but it is achieved by pulling hard from the wall, which is audible and warms the unit. Charging speed of this kind is a mode you select for a reason, not the condition the unit sits in overnight, and treating it as the default misreads what the number describes.

What our data can’t tell you: The delivered-energy figure in our record for this unit was calculated from an assumed efficiency rather than measured, so we exclude it from our own research and cannot tell you what actually reaches an outlet. Its sibling the DELTA 2 has a real six-month measurement; this newer model has none, and cells changed between them.

How this score is computed

The BatteryRank score is computed from sourced data with a published formula — ranked by data, not lab testing. Seven sub-scores blend into a 0–100 composite, grouped into four buyer pillars. Price is deliberately not a scoring input: prices move daily, so value intelligence lives in the price section above, judged against this model's own history.

Scores are cohort-relative — each model is ranked against others in its size class. Missing inputs renormalize out rather than scoring zero (a model is never penalized for a spec nobody in its class publishes), and any figure resting on a documented estimate is tagged est.
